April and Mommy

Here is a photo taken at Bush Park in December 2007 of my wife, Sandra and dog, April. We had just found a few weeks prior that Sandra was officially pregnant. We knew from taking the home test, but it was "real" after we saw the ultrasound of our daughter at 14 weeks! Sandra fell in love instantly, and neither one of us expected the little one to appear more human than embryo. Anyhow, this photo was taken when she was almost 15 weeks, and we hadn't told anyone yet. We wanted to wait until after the first trimester, and the waiting was very hard. It was a gift we reserved for Christmas, and our families were so delighted! The first grandchild on both sides of our families...little did we know how they had been waiting for the day to come, but didn't want to be the pushy parents! If only we knew!
